FAQs

  • The first session is usually an initial intake session and can be a little intimidating. It usually consists of me asking a lot of questions to understand what you are going through, including current symptoms, and getting to know you better. The purpose of this session is for me to learn how your current concerns are impacting your daily life and establishing goals for therapy.

The typical session starts with clients updating me on their time since we last met. Often times, they will then identify areas that they would like to talk about and where they feel change is needed. This may involve talking about times they felt increased anxiety or sadness throughout the week, or talking about difficult situations that need to be processed. If not much is going on, then we will usually revert to working towards goals set during the first session.

The bottom line: therapy is what you make it. No two sessions are alike because everyone is their own unique person with their own unique needs. You’ll get out of therapy what you put into it. If you are willing to put in the work during and between sessions, you will start to see improvement in your daily life.

  • My current rate is $125 per session.

  • For clients who are unable to afford the $125 fee per session, I offer a sliding scale fee starting around $50 per session.

I do not want finances to be a barrier to seeking care so please reach out if you have any questions/concerns about cost.

Please note that the number of clients I am able to see for a reduced cost will be limited and may have a wait list at any given time. This allows me to afford the costs of running my business.

Additional resources for reduced cost therapy include Open Path Collective, local colleges, including the Eastern Michigan University’s Community Behavioral Health Clinic, or community agencies, such as Jewish Family Services or Catholic Social Services.

The parking lot is located at the intersection of First Street and Anne Street. There are multiple entrances to the building from this parking lot; each has a map to help you locate my office. • Telehealth is a great option for care that allows you to remain in the comfort of your own home while getting the care that you need. Recent research indicates that telehealth can be just as effective as in-person care. I use a secure online platform for telehealth visits and will continue to provide this option for care as long as insurance will continue to reimburse this type of care.
