Hi, I’m Katie

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LMSW-Clinical) in the State of Michigan. I graduated from The University of Michigan in 2009 with a B.S. in Biology and went on to complete my Master’s of Social Work (MSW) at Washington University in St. Louis in 2012. My specialty in graduate school was health and mental health. My unique background has allowed me to use my knowledge of human physiology to provide interventions focused on caring for both physical and mental health.

My social work career began as a medical social worker in a variety of healthcare settings, including outpatient clinics, inpatient hospital units, and emergency departments. In this role, I located relevant community resources and provided therapeutic interventions to help improve clients’ quality of life. I transitioned to private practice through a local agency in 2021 and then opened my own practice in 2023. I have enjoyed working as a therapist because it allows me to care for clients over longer periods of time and witness the positive changes clients make to become who they want to be.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my friends, my found family, and two dogs: Penny the Goldendoodle (right) and Ivy the Bernedoodle (left). My hobbies include making arts/crafts, building Legos, completing jigsaw puzzles, and reading. You can always ask me about what book I am reading - there is usually more than one!
